Chapter Officers

The officers of the Mount Vernon Chapter NSDAR are dedicated, hard-working individuals. Each officer brings their talents and passion for the DAR mission to every event and meeting. 

Chapter History

The Mount Vernon Chapter NSDAR has a rich history. On May 13, 1893 the Mount Vernon Chapter was organized on the piazza at Mount Vernon, home of George Washington. 

Chapter Events

Chapter meetings are held on the second Thursday of months September through June. Meetings are held at 10:30 a.m., preceded by a social that begins at 10:00 a.m.
Throughout the year members of our chapter participate in activities such as volunteer work, community events, and chapter programs. 


What is NSDAR?

NSDAR is a women's service organization. It is a nonprofit, nonpolitical group that was founded in 1890 with the mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism. 

Who joins NSDAR?

NSDAR proudly has over 185,000 members, all who have proven lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution (i.e.  provided service or direct assistance in achieving America's independence).  

What is the history of NSDAR?

NSDAR has a history dating back to 1890 when the organization was founded. The objectives (historic preservation, education, and patriotism) have not changed in the 125 year history of the organization.
